When is the submission period?
You can submit your films between February 9 and August 3, 2025. You will find the "Register Here" button on the Home page of our website.
How can I participate?
Click on the "Submit now" button on the Home page of our website. It will take you to the Filmfreeway platform. There you will create a user, then in "projects" you will upload your films with all the requested info (mandatory items: Synopsis, Poster, Biography, photo and technical team).
Once you have done this, go to our profile at filmfreeway.com/7siff, click on "Submit", choose the film you want to enter, select the corresponding category, check out, confirm and that's it.
Remember that the premiere is exclusive to the festival, meaning the film cannot be published or screened until after the festival (or, if not selected, until the official selection is announced).
Can I participate from any country?
Yes, 7SIFF has both an Argentine and a Foreign Competition. You can submit your film from anywhere in the world.
Is it 7 seconds total?
No, your movie must be 7 seconds long, but you also have 2 seconds for the title and 4 seconds for the credits. So in total it will be 13 seconds.
Can I submit a film in vertical format?
The festival is screened in cinemas, so films must be in horizontal format. If, for aesthetic or narrative reasons, your film is vertical, please submit it with black bars on the sides.
Do the titles have to be on black screen, or can I overprint them on an image?
Titles can have any design you want, they can be applied over any image you want, but be careful! Don't let the image behind them change the plot of your 7-second movie.
Can it be of any genre?
Yes!
Can I submit more than one film?
Yes, as many as you want.
Are there any technical requirements?
Selected films will be screened in cinemas, so only horizontal works should be submitted. Regarding codecs and other specifications: if selected, we will request the film in 4K, at 24fps, with audio at -1dB. (Although this is not mandatory at the time of submission.)
Can I upload my film to social media or screen it?
No, the premiere is exclusive to 7SIFF. Once the festival ends (or if your film is not selected), you may share it on any platform you wish.
